Jessamine County Schools
Nicholasville KY

Kathy Fields has more than 25 years of distinguished experience as a teacher and administrator in Kentucky public schools. She began her career teaching elementary school in Grant County, and became Director of Special Education and Federal Programs in Bath County. Kathy served as an elementary school principal in Jessamine County for 12 years, and advanced to become Director of Title I, Pre-K-12 Instructional Supervisor, and now serves the district as Lead Instructional Administrator.

She returned to West Jessamine Middle School when it was designated a Tier 4 school for failing to meet annual achievement goals, and led a dramatic turnaround that enabled the school to advance past tier consequences in only two years. Kathy directed school-wide implementation of the CTL Adolescent Literacy Model there under the federally funded Kentucky Striving Readers Project to help transform instructional practice, and now guides other administrators leading challenging turnaround efforts throughout the region.

Kathy holds Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in elementary education from Georgetown College and a Rank I in school administration from Morehead State University. She holds professional certificates for instructional leadership at the elementary and middle principal and superintendent levels.
