Clients - St. Jude’s School, Tanzania, East Africa

CTL has developed and is facilitating customized school-wide professional development for the School of St. Jude in Tanzania, East Africa. St. Jude has been in operation since 2001 and serves more than 500 of the country’s poorest children in grades one through six. The school plans to add an additional grade each year, and to construct new facilities as needed until it graduates its first high school class.

CTL staff works both on-site at the school and through distance technologies, taking a two-pronged approach with administrators and teachers to enable the school’s administrators to develop organizational standards and processes that support continuous improvement through distributed leadership and accountability, and to make it possible for teachers to support improved classroom instruction integrating African and western practices.
