Clients - The Galef Institute

From 1994 to 1998 the Collaborative and the Galef Institute worked together in close partnership to implement the Institute's Different Ways of Knowing, whole school reform model in hundreds of elementary and middle schools in Kentucky. The Collaborative continues to implement the DWoK model in some Kentucky schools and schools in other states through a cooperative agreement with the Institute to deliver coaching and professional development services.

From 2000 to 2004 Collaborative staff were involved in the implementation of the Middle Grades Research Demonstration Project, a national research initiative to re-design the DWoK model for middle grades implementation. The new model was designed to a link curriculum, instruction and assessment in a standards-based environment and taking in mind the individual learning needs of each child.
